Tale of a retailer

Tale of a retailer

Having spent most of my career in medical sales, then leaping at an opportunity to work for Habitat for Humanity, I went from a part time house wife to GI Jane in overtime. I knew at this point in my career, indeed, my life... I wanted to make a living doing something fun and not TOO serious; Now, I know sales and I LOVE clothing and accessories of all kinds. And, being born here in the mid-west. I have a certain common thread with other women from my region and beyond. I’d say tribal, ranch, farm, desert, river, lake, plains people? LOL that pretty much sums it up, that’s my people. I’ve got kin buried here in Indian Territory back 8 generations. I feel like I can relate to so many of the women who shop with me. And these mid western men, oh how sweet they can be! Gifting is hard ladies!! Sign in! Make a wish list and share it with them by email. God Bless them cuties, they try so hard. The ones that buy you stuff from my store? Their keepers! We only carry stuff I really want to own myself. Everything. Jewelry, clothing, shoes, bags.. I travel to markets here and beyond to procure the things I want to wear.. in quantity, so I can share it with my girlfriends. ♥ Seriously. My closest girlfriends have collab accounts with me ♥  They help me promote my products! Because they love them too. And maybe me a little. I love collaborating with others to network about beautiful items. It’s fun. And it creates community.

As for me, I prefer to work from home so I have time to do my own customer service, and Ms. Jenny and the girls at Showplace Market run the register. This allows me to fulfill my other passion. Family. Our youngest is only 11 and we care for my elderly Uncle. So by necessity or nature, Ms. Joy Andrews is a master of all trades. Her chief role with PSTP at this time is as our Art Designer. Together we are designing and manufacturing adjustable straps, hand printed bandanas, hand embroidered hats, handmade decor and more.

It’s been a busy year here at PSTP, and we have so much more on the horizon! Thanks to our amazing todays advanced technology, we are able to offer thousands of items online that are usually only available in niche stores. Boutiques. Yet last February we opened a second shop! Our Denim Bar, featuring Judy Blue with sizes ranging from 0-26 in stock at all times. We’ve loaded it up with all the right brands in just the right sizes for all gals. The decision to carry full runs of jeans stems from our own struggle to find fashionable jeans for ourselves in mainstream shops. “What’s the deal? I’m not an alien with 8 arms! Why don’t they have clothes for me?!” So Judy Blue was a very natural fit for us. Not only do they fit amazingly well whether you're tall with a big bootie or you’re a small little cutie, they provide trendy and classic styles for all age ranges in shorts and jeans. Round here we say “Itty bitty or extra booty, we’ve got you covered.”

Now for tops, we have been less than thrilled with the current market… I don’t wanna say it’s our final frontier, cause it’s not, but we are also gonna be making shirts this year. They are gonna go up to at least 3x. At LEAST! We are stunned to find how hard it is to get dressed if you have giant boombas or if your arms aren’t small, medium OR large.

As for shoes, we carry American Darling, of course, but we’re also honored to carry the full line of Alcala’s Boots, designed by Linda Alcala of Chicago,IL herself. Made in Italy with Brazilian leather, leather lined… ah so decadent!  She is a dear friend, and a true icon. I hope you will take the time to look her over her line. Or better yet, make her acquaintance. I can’t say enough good things.

Jewelry– So I have searched the marketplace for years for local artisans. Especially seeking out those still using the old techniques to make Native American wearable art that we can buy directly from the artist. And PSTP has a representative in the Utah area, Ms. Tracie Stanley, who goes to the Uintah and Ouray Reservation and procures the most beautiful pieces of jewelry for the shop. We sell it all online, on Amazon and of course our two shops are chock a block full with deals you can’t find anywhere else!  While the leather and accessory shop, and the Denim Bar are our two retail locations at this time, we have plans to open another location in Norman, OK. In addition to this location being closer to our home office, it will provide a maker space for Joy and her helpers to make wearable art such as hats and scarves. We post our shenanigans on tiktok and instagram for all to see, and we sell our shenanigans to afford more shenanigans if you get my drift. We love our work. Love the women we work with.

The mission of PTSP is to create a fun experience for all those who get involved– as employees, as management, as vendors and as customers alike. We support the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and of course our local womens and animal shelters, because hello?! We love our pets and our girlfriends!

We tried to figure out how to set ourselves apart from other retailers selling the similar products, and we decided we would sell the farm on customer service and stand behind what we sell. And we would offer money back to paying customers. If they spend money with us, we would make sure and give them a gift to use toward their next purchase. And we call those “Buck$” you will find them automatically in your account after each purchase, and they add up fast. They are really intended to give the buyer back up to 20% of her purchase price.

We also offer free shipping over $100 all the time. Which, let’s just face it, is helpful right? I mean like $15-20 in savings per shipment. And all orders over $200 get a free gift worth at least $10! We try to lay it on thick. Because, especially as women, when we finally use time, money resources to gift ourselves, it is special. And it is special to us when we are able to help.

Buying a purse or a few new pairs of jeans shouldn’t be daunting. It should be fun. Know we are just a phone call or text away and are looking at the same beautiful merchandise, we’re spending part of our paycheck on it too, guaranteed, and we love to answer questions. You know PSTP carries so many items that it is impossible to have enough details online for every item. So we make ourselves available for questions as much as possible.  It may take me some time, but I try like heck to answer all the questions you gals send my way.

We hope that by building up ourselves, and each other, we will create a place that is kind and fun for a woman to enjoy herself and feel confident and powerful.  A place where you get what you want. And fit right in. A place where the women recognize each other. No matter race, or creed. And find what they want. That’s the type of space we’re looking to provide for you.
